Book a bulky waste collection
We only take items if you say what they're when you book. We’ll not take any extra items. But you can amend your order.
We only collect residential waste from homes. This must be normal waste and cannot be from a business. Your items must be safe to carry.
One free collection every 12 months
If you live in Redbridge, you can have one free collection every 12 months. If you book a collection, we'll take up to three items for you.
This is a ‘rolling’ 12 months. For example:
- You book a bulky waste collection for one item for 14 October 2024
- You must wait until 15 October 2025 to book another free collection
You can pay for extra collections
We’ll take extra items for you if you pay £14.20 for each item. You must pay in advance.
Make your items safe to carry
We only take items if they are safe to carry.
If it's raining, cover soft items like mattresses to keep them dry.
You must also:
- empty cupboards and drawers
- tape cupboards and drawers shut
- tape glass and sharp edges
- remove nails
- make loose items easy and safe to carry using bin bags or by making a bundle
When to leave your items out
Your items must be out by 6am on the day of your collection.
We’ll not call you or knock on your door.
Where to put your items
When you book, you’ll tell us where you are going to leave your items. You must leave your items in that place.
Your items must be easy to see from the road.
You must also:
- unlock any gates
- make sure that parked cars are not blocking the way
If your items are not in the right place:
- we will not take them
- you will not get a refund
Change or cancel your booking
Log in to your account to change your booking. You must give at least two full working day’s notice.
For example:
- you make a booking for Friday
- your deadline for changes is 5pm on Tuesday
What we'll collect
A list of the items we'll collect
We do not collect building or DIY waste
This is called ‘restricted waste’. You can take it to a recycling and reuse centre or pay a company to collect this from your home.
Items with Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)
Many items of upholstered furniture seating contain high levels of persistent organic pollutants (POPs). These are toxic chemicals that break down slowly and remain in the environment for a long time.
We’ll still collect items that contain POPs. But this may mean we visit you twice or on a different day.
Examples of upholstered furniture:
- sofas, sofa beds and Armchairs
- home office chairs
- upholstered kitchen and dining room chairs
- leather chairs
- futons and pouffes
- upholstered stools and footstools
- beanbags
- floor and sofa cushions

You can donate working, good quality items for reuse
Please donate your furniture and white goods for reuse if they’re in good condition. Your furniture needs to have a fire resistant label on it.
