Fly tipping
Fly tipping is rubbish dumped illegally onto the street, alleyways or on any private or public land. We work with our residents to improve and keep the borough tidy, this means eliminating and prosecuting fly tippers.
Enforcement
We use CCTV footage to catch fly tippers. Anyone caught dumping rubbish in Redbridge can face an unlimited fine and a criminal record.
Report
To convict fly tippers, we often rely on witness statements. You can help make Redbridge a cleaner, greener place to live. If you know of someone fly tipping or witness dumping of rubbish please report it or call us 020 8554 5000. You don’t need to leave your details, but they might help us, all fly-tipping reports are confidential.
Ways to dispose of waste
There are responsible ways for residents to throw away unwanted goods, including large items. We offer weekly refuse and recycling collections, garden waste collection during the summer and a bulky waste collection service. The Chigwell Road tip accepts builders rubble, non-domestic waste, large items and green waste as well as recycling facilities.
If you plan to use a private company to dispose of your waste, you must ensure that they are legally authorised to do so and have a valid waste carriers licence.
