Ilford Business Improvement District
Formed in 2009, the Ilford Business Improvement District key aims are to improve Ilford for businesses, workers, consumers, stakeholders and the public.
Their priority areas and activities include:
- On-street Presence: The BID’s Street Ambassador has played a crucial role in welcoming and assisting visitors to the Town Centre
- Security: The BID’s Radio Security Scheme links over 70 businesses, CCTV, Street Ambassador, Security team and the Met Police. It enables users to swap real-time information and share knowledge, as well as access to the DISC Business Crime Reduction App. The BIDs security team provide on street presence 6 days a week to the businesses, visitors and consumers within the boundary
- Place image: The BID plays a pivotal role in place making and public realm initiatives. To date the BID has provided floral displays to brighten the streets in the summer months, with over 80 hanging baskets provided each year and decorative street lighting over the festive season, including Christmas Trees
- Events: The BID drives, collaborates and leads high-profile events to promote the town centre offer and drive footfall. To date the team have held outdoor cinemas, pop-up summer gardens, skating rinks, Easter trails, Christmas parades and cultural dance performances
The BID promotes Ilford and its businesses using several channels to celebrate the culture and diversity of Ilford Town Centre and to ensure that Ilford is advertised as the destination of choice for families, communities, consumers, businesses, investors and all major stakeholders
