How long is a premises licence or club premises certificate valid?
A licence or certificate do not have expiry dates unless they are revoked, lapsed, surrendered or otherwise become invalid if the holder ceases to be entitled to work in the UK however an annual maintenance fee must be paid. As of 25 April 2012, any licence or certificate will result in suspension if payment is not received within 21 days of the due date. The suspension will remain until the annual fee is received at that point no licensable activities will be permitted at the premises
Is a Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) required?
A DPS is required for any premises where alcohol is sold or supplied under a Premises Licence however recognised "community premises” may apply to have this requirement to be waived

In which local newspaper should I place my ad?
Local newspapers such as the Ilford Recorder and Yellow Advertiser are recognised as circulating throughout the entire borough of Redbridge, although applicants may advertise in another local newspaper circulating in the area in which the premises are situated.
How long does the consultation period last for a new/variation application?
Consultation period is for 28 consecutive days for new or full variation or 10 working days for minor application starting on the day after the application was given to the authority
How do I transfer my premises licence?

Will tacit consent apply
Yes. If an application has been made lawfully and there have been no representations from responsible authorities or other persons before the end of the consultation period. This means that you will be able to act as though your application is granted if you have not heard from the local authority by the end of the target completion period. The Council's target completion period under the Licensing Act 2003 are:
- new, provisional and full variation applications - 40 days after the authority and the responsible authorities have received your valid application
- all other notification types - 30 days after the authority and the responsible authorities have received your valid application
- Minor variation applications cannot be given tacit authorisation as by law they are automatically refused if the authority has not determined the application after 15 working days from receipt.

How can I make a payment?
Payment can be made by
- Cheque or Postal Order – (must be payable to London Borough of Redbridge)
- Online for electronic applications
- Request that the Licensing Authority contact you so that you can make a payment over the phone with a debit or credit card
- Telephone Customer Centre on 020 8554 5000 - when payments are successfully made over the phone, the contact centre will offer a 'payment receipt reference number'. Please provide a copy of the payment receipt reference number along with the form to the authority and the authority will consider processing your request after it is received. Please be advised that applications are being dealt with in strict date order and your patience is much appreciated during this period
- If you would prefer to be invoiced for the fee, you may pay online by card, by cheque or at a Paypoint location, please notify the authority accordingly
