Licensing Act 2003 Public Register

This is a Public Register for licences issued under the Licensing Act 2003. The Authority is required by law to maintain a public register of all applications and licences. This register includes information on current, temporary and expired licences as well as details of new applications currently under consultation.

Applications Under Consultation

The weekly Members Licensing Bulletin provides details of all business licensing applications submitted to the Authority including new applications and variations that are currently under the statutory consultation period. Members of the public and responsible authorities can make representations regarding these applications.

Public Notices

The Authority is required to advertise applications on its website for a period of 28 days from the day following the receipt of the application. This includes:

  • New premises licences
  • Variations of premises licences (excluding minor variations)
  • Provisional statements
  • New club premises certificates
  • Variations of club premises certificates (excluding minor variations)

Applicants must also display a notice outside the premises for 28 days and publish it once in a local newspaper.

Review Applications

Any responsible authority or interested party may apply for a review of a premises licence or club premises certificate on grounds relevant to the licensing objectives. Details of current review applications are available via Members Licensing Bulletin

 

Making Representations

Representations to applications for new premises licences, club premises certificates, their variation or review may be made by any responsible authority or any other person. Representations must be relevant to one or more of the statutory licensing objectives:

  • The prevention of crime and disorder
  • Public safety
  • The prevention of public nuisance
  • The protection of children from harm

Only representations made within the time limits of the public notice will be considered. Should you wish to expand upon a specific point raised in your written representation, additional evidence must be served on all parties in advance of the hearing date.

In-Person Access

To view the public register in person, you must contact the authority by email to arrange a visit. You can only visit the office by appointment and you must arrive at the scheduled time. Ensure that you bring any necessary identification or documentation as required.

Copies of the applications or licences are available at a cost of £10.50 each.
