Ukrainian nationals with Homes for Ukraine visa

If you’re a Ukrainian national with a Homes for Ukraine visa and looking for your own property to rent, you can apply for a council tax discount.  

This discount does not apply to other schemes such as The Ukraine Family Scheme or The Ukraine Extension Scheme. 

 

Who can apply? 

You’ll be entitled to a 50% discount from your council tax if all of the following apply: 

• you're a Ukrainian national 

• you're living in the UK under the Homes for Ukraine sponsorship scheme 

• you’re living in your own accommodation (not in your sponsor’s home) 

• any other adult in the property is also living in the UK under the Homes for Ukraine sponsorship scheme 

If you're on a low income, you can check if you can get more money off your council tax. 

 

How to apply 

You’ll need:   

• your council tax reference number (if you have registered for council tax) 

• names and date of birth of all adults living in the property  

• copies of the Homes for Ukraine visa for all adults living in the property
