Picturehouse Cinemas offer autism-friendly screenings, especially for children and adults with autism and their family, friends or carers - because some children and adults with autism have sensory sensitivities to sound and light they can find going to the cinema difficult. They may disturb other cinema-goers by making noise or needing to go out for a break. For Autism-friendly screenings the soundtrack is turned down a little and low lights are left on in the auditorium. If anyone makes a noise or moves around that is absolutely fine! After the film we always provide some free tea, coffee, juice and biscuits. This is an opportunity for you to chat to other people with autism, their family members and to the staff at the cinema.
