Have fun at Valentines Lido
We’re building a state-of-the-art lido in Valentines Park that will be open all year round – the first to be built in London in decades.
You’ll be able to have a gentle swim, play in the splash area, or increase your stamina in the six-lane, 25 metre pool.
A café will offer warm drinks in winter and cool refreshments in summer, and there will be a dance and exercise studio for those who want to stay fit.
A council spokesperson said “Our borough is a great place to live, work, and visit, and we’re continuing to invest in leisure facilities so local families and visitors can access everything they need right on our doorstep.
The new lido will provide a sustainable, fun, and social place for people to exercise in the great outdoors, while boosting our local economy and restoring the heritage of Valentines Park. As well as a new swimming pool, we’re proposing to create a splashpad for children, a café, a gym, and studio space so Valentines Park can become a hub for our local communities to meet, exercise and enjoy.”
The new lido will include the following:
- 25 metre 6 lane swimming pool
- spa pool
- steam room
- plunge pool
- treatment rooms
- changing facilities
- children's splash pad
- café
- gym
- dance / exercise studio
- meeting room
- outdoor recreation / picnic area
- car parking
The lido will be cost-effective and energy-efficient, providing a great space for local people to stay active, connect with others, and enjoy a healthier lifestyle – no matter the season.
