Pete’s Goodtime Jazz Band

As this performance takes place in our Foyer it is unaffected by the current auditorium closure. An afternoon of fun toe-tapping jazz, blues and swing in our KMT foyer. Think of the great era of the 1920s and 1930s and of Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller and Benny Goodman. Add a dash of blues, New Orleans and British trad and you’re sure to have a great time. The musicians are of the finest calibre. They have travelled the globe, performing at festivals, major concert halls and jazz clubs worldwide. Between them, they have played hundreds of performances in the bands of Chris Barber, Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk and many more. Pop in after your Sunday lunch, grab a drink from the bar, sit back and enjoy!

Author Event with Maudie Smith – A Hat Full of Sea

Who loves the seaside? It’s a long way to the sea from here but luckily author Maudie Smith is bringing it with her – in a hat! Find out how a special seashell inspired her to write her very first picture book. Listen to the heartwarming story of A Hat Full of Sea and discover how clever Cora brings the sea to her Grandpa Jim. Help recreate all the sights and sounds of the seaside, and even decorate your own fish! Bring your favourite hat – Maudie will definitely be wearing hers! Maudie Smith writes humorous and touching stories for children aged 2 to 12 including popular title, My Must-Have Mum. She has an MA in Writing for Young People. She also has a background in theatre, which means events are always lively, inspiring, and fun! Tickets are free, but booking essential – or you can buy a signed copy of the book!

Fused Glass Workshop – Make a Piece of Wall Art

Get creative in our best-selling fused glass workshop and make an impressive piece of wall art. Led by our studio artist Amanda Seljubac, you’ll use specialist techniques and materials to create a unique piece of wall art. You’ll be surrounded by inspiration and will start by sketching your design, before learning how to accurately cut glass and re-create your design. Unleash your creativity with glass in a variety of colours and forms, including frit, stringers and copper embellishments. Your finished piece will be 15cm x 20cm, ready to hang at home. Suitable for adults of all abilities. Work will be fired and ready for collection within 1 week of the workshop. All materials included.
