Join Community Voice
You’ll have the opportunity to tell us about your experience of life in the borough, and to help us understand what matters most to you and your friends, family and community.
- Give feedback to the Council,
- Have your say on decisions that affect local council services, and your life.
- Help us better understand what it’s to live in Redbridge and where people in your community need support,
The better we understand how our services work for local people and what people need in different parts of Redbridge, the better we can support you.
What is Community Voice?
Community Voice consists of a group of 80 local people from across Redbridge, and council representatives, who meet six times a year, either online or in person, for 90 minutes.
It provides opportunities for discussion and enables local people to be active participants in decisions and projects that impact their own lives.
What are the principles of Community Voice?
- Mutual respect, understanding and diplomacy.
- Openness and trust.
- Objectivity, accountability, honesty and integrity.
- Equality, equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Co-production: we work together to make positive change.
What topics are discussed?
Each meeting focuses on a specific project or decision that is being considered by the Council, and allows us to hear your thoughts and experiences. Community Voice participants can raise projects or decisions that they would like to be discussed at the meetings, and where possible these are accommodated. Recent topics have included a new climate change strategy, Redbridge’s Tackling Poverty work programme, and leisure and culture in the borough.
How do we currently consult residents?
We actively listen all year round to views and concerns raised by local people, and act on their behalf to improve services and make better decisions.
