Financial help to pay your rent
You could get extra help to pay your rent if you are getting Housing Benefit or the housing element of Universal Credit. This is called a Discretionary Housing Payment and is in addition to your benefits.
Funding for Discretionary Housing Payments is limited.
We will review your application and will decide if you can get the payment.
Hardship payments for Council Tax
You could get more help with your Council Tax if you are getting a Council Tax Reduction.
We will decide if you can claim for a Hardship Payment to cover your Council Tax.
