Housing help for people who are vulnerable
You may be able to get help with your housing options if you:
- need support with living on your own and are older than 55
- are vulnerable - this includes people with disabilities, young people who have left care and people with dependent children
You might be able to move into accommodation where you will get support with day to day living, for example:
- extra care housing
- a care home
- sheltered housing
- supported living accommodation
You could adapt your home to help you stay independent. For example, this could be adding a stair rail or widening your doorways.

How to get help if you are an asylum seeker
You will have no recourse to public funds if you are an asylum seeker (claiming asylum).
