Local election update: Mayfield Ward

A local election candidate and Redbridge resident has sadly passed away. The candidate, who was due to stand in Mayfield Ward, was not a sitting councillor.
In accordance with electoral law, the local election of candidates in Mayfield ward will be deferred. Elections in all other Redbridge wards will continue, as planned, on Thursday, 5 May.
Registered electors in Mayfield ward will receive a notice from the Council Returning Officer early next week, informing them of the new election timetable for their ward.
Lesley Seary, Council Returning Officer, said: "Our thoughts are with the candidate's family at this very sad time. We send our deepest condolences to all those impacted by this devastating loss."
