We are all deeply saddened by the terrifying attack in our borough, where four people were injured and a young boy sadly lost his life.
We’d like to thank the police for their fast and thorough work in detaining the suspect so quickly, so there could be no further risk to the public.
We are continuing to support the police investigation and ask anyone to contact the police directly on 101 if they have any information related to the attack.
Redbridge is a kind community and we know local people will come together at this time. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families and friends. Redbridge is here for you.

We feel shocked at the news of this morning’s attack in Hainault. Police have detained the suspect, and we are supporting the police investigation.
There are cordons in place in the area this morning but police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and have said there is no further risk to the local people.
Hainault is a close-knit community and we know this will have shaken local people. Our thoughts are with all those affected and their family members.
The investigation is live, and police have asked for anyone with any information to call 101.
