Funding available for local community projects
Published: 6 January 2025
Redbridge Council has made funding available for local community groups to bid for projects that will significantly improve and enhance the borough, making it a better place for all its residents.
The Community Seed Fund launched in December and is open to local non-profit groups and organisations with brilliant ideas that can help our local community.
Redbridge Council is looking for new ideas to help deliver services and projects that address the following priorities in The Redbridge Plan: 2022-2026.
- Safe and Healthy
- Homes and Neighbourhoods
- Jobs and Skills
- Clean and Green
Any non-profit group or organisation that meets the following criteria can make an application:
- Your income in the last financial year (or average per annum in the previous three years) must not exceed £100,000. Applications are particularly encouraged if your income does not exceed £50,000.
- All the funding applied for must benefit the London Borough of Redbridge.
- Applications for up to a maximum of £3,000 can be made until Friday 31 January 2025.
Cllr Namreen Chaudhry, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Communities, said: “We are already fortunate enough to have hundreds of volunteers who dedicate their time and efforts to making our borough a better place. Whether it's a community litter pick, tree planting day, or a play streets scheme for children, their contributions and sense of pride in our borough are truly remarkable.
“We want to harness this energy further by making money available to get more of these community-based projects off the ground. If you want to make a positive difference in your neighbourhood, please submit your bid by the closing date. We can’t wait to hear from you.”
Applications will be reviewed immediately after the closing date of Friday 31 January 2025, allowing grants to be distributed quickly to the community.
