January Redbridge Wall of Shame: Help us find the fly-tippers caught on camera spoiling our borough
Published: 28 January 2025
Redbridge is one of the most biodiverse and greenest boroughs in London, with award winning parks and open spaces, and we’re determined to keep it that way.
Several people have been caught on camera dumping their rubbish in our borough despite the many services available in Redbridge to dispose of rubbish legally and responsibly.
We are working closely with local communities to send a strong message to the law-breakers that we won’t tolerate their mess on our streets.
The fly-tippers captured on CCTV have been featured in January’s Redbridge Wall of Shame in a bid to find them and the council is appealing to local communities to come forward with information if they recognise any of the offenders.
CCTV footage show perpetrators leaving bags of rubbish on the street, as well as dumping what appears to be a sponge mattress and leaving black household waste bags on top of bins on the street, which is also fly-tipping.
Head to Redbridge Wall of Shame to view the footage: https://wallofshame.redbridge.gov.uk/
If you can help identify any of the culprits in the clips please contact Redbridge Council on: Cleansing.Services@redbridge.gov.uk

Community support for tougher action against fly-tippers has also triggered steeper penalties for those caught making a mess in Redbridge.
Anyone caught dumping their rubbish in the borough now faces a £1000 on the spot fine for fly-tipping, which includes leaving waste or small bags of rubbish on the street by or near public street bins, or commercial bins as it is still fly-tipping.
The hard-hitting fine was introduced following a change to legislation, and in response to community feedback, including a boroughwide survey which revealed that clean and tidy neighbourhoods, and tougher action for fly-tipping were among the top priorities for local people.
Redbridge Council also successfully prosecuted a woman from Hainault recently who left her rubbish fly-tipped on the street, just yards from her home. She now has to pay £1000 in fines and court costs for fly-tipping rubbish she could have easily disposed through services available in Redbridge to help local people get rid of their waste. If you spot a fly-tip in the borough you can easily report it online through the council’s Report It page: https://www.redbridge.gov.uk/report-it/
All fly tips made known to the council are recorded and investigated, with enforcement action being taken if evidence is found. The council aims to clear all recorded fly-tips on council land and the highway within 24 hours of it being reported. You can also submit evidence of perpetrators or their vehicles on our Report It page which will aid enforcement investigations.
