Redbridge joins World’s Biggest Community Safety Meeting in support of Antisocial Behaviour Awareness Week
Published: 14 July 2022
Redbridge Council is supporting Antisocial Behaviour Awareness Week and is opening its Enforcement Hubs for a special session to encourage local people to join the ‘World’s Biggest Community Safety Meeting’
Running from July 18 to 24, Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week aims to encourage communities to take a stand against antisocial behaviour and feel empowered to speak out if they have experienced, or witnessed it.
As part of the awareness week the council is opening its York Road and Hainault Enforcement Hubs for a special community session to join the campaign’s ‘World’s Biggest Community Safety Meeting’ - the aim is to get people across the country having one big conversation about antisocial behaviour on Thursday 21 July.
The special Enforcement Hub sessions encourage local discussion around tackling antisocial behaviour, how to report it, as well as give residents the opportunity to discuss local antisocial behaviour concerns with council Enforcement Officers and the Police. The sessions will take place:
Thursday 21 July:
- York Road Enforcement Hub - Ilford
8.30am-10am
- Hainault Enforcement Hub – Manford Way
12pm-4pm
Redbridge Council’s Neighbourhood Engagement Team will also be on hand to offer advice and information around community initiatives that can support the reduction of antisocial behaviour.
Cabinet Member for Crime, Safety and Community Cohesion, Cllr Khayer Chowdhury said: “As part of plans to make Redbridge safer we’re supporting Antisocial Behaviour Awareness Week, bringing communities together to tackle ASB across our borough.
“Redbridge is our home, and we all deserve to feel safe here. As a council, we will not tolerate crime and antisocial behaviour on our streets and are working closely with Police and other partners to keep our borough safe for local people.”
A special Q&A session is also being hosted on Redbridge Council’s Instagram page: @redbridgecouncil on Thursday 21 July. The council’s Enforcement Team will be on hand to answer issues related to:
- fly tipping
- Abandoned vehicles
- Begging
- Street drinking
- Noisy neighbours
Residents can report antisocial behaviour incidents to the police by calling 101 or online via: https://www.met.police.uk/ro/report/asb/asb/report-antisocial-behaviour/
