More Walk-In and Pop-Up vaccination clinics announced in Redbridge for June and July

Published: 25 June 2021

Anyone aged over 18 can now quickly and easily get their first or second COVID-19 vaccine at one of 15 new Walk-In and 12 Pop-Up clinics being run in the borough during June and July.

In a move to provide quick and easy access to vaccinations, a partnership between Redbridge Council and the NHS will see 15 new Walk-In clinics held at Ilford Town Hall, every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday between now and 18 July.

A series of community based Pop-Up vaccination clinics will also be run simultaneously across the borough between mid-June and July offering either the Astra-Zeneca or Pfizer vaccines depending on the session.

Cllr Mark Santos, Redbridge Council Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health said:

“We want to make it as quick and easy as possible for everyone to get their COVID jab, so we can all begin to move on safely with our lives.

“These walk-in sessions make it easier than ever to join the hundreds of thousands of Redbridge residents who have already had their potentially life-saving vaccination – keeping you, your family and your neighbours safe from COVID.

“I encourage you to please tell your family, friends and neighbours about this opportunity to get your first or second vaccine dose.”

Dr Najib Seedat, Clinical lead of the NHS outreach team and a GP at the Ilford Medical Centre, said:

“The more of us that get vaccinated the quicker we can look to getting back to a more normal way of life and move closer towards the freedoms everyone is missing.

“The vaccination clinic at Ilford Town Hall is open to anyone living or working in the borough and will enable you to get either your first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.  Both the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines are available at our pop-up clinics on different days, so please check the listings.

“I would encourage anyone with a younger or older family member still not vaccinated to bring them along.”

The currently available vaccines are given in two doses. You usually have the second dose 8 to 12 weeks after the first dose.

Some people at high risk from COVID-19 can get earlier appointments for their second dose (at 8 weeks instead of 12 weeks). Wait to be contacted if you think you are in this group. Both your doses must be the same-named vaccine.

Appointments for the Ilford Town Hall clinics can be booked between 4-7 pm at each session, with a walk-in service offered between 7.30-8.30pm. A queuing system will be in place for the walk-in service, so please be prepared to wait your turn.

The Ilford Town Hall clinics will be offering the Pfizer vaccine only. Appointments can be booked by calling freephone 0800 038 59 29, 8 am-8 pm Monday to Friday, or through contacting your GP who can book you in directly.

No proof of address, immigration status or NHS number is required for the Walk-In or Pop-Up clinics – just confirmation of your age.

The community Pop-Up clinics will be held at Singh Sabha Gurdwara, John Bramston Primary, Winston way Primary, Cleveland Primary, Redbridge Primary and New North Road Community Centre.

There is a limited walk-in capacity at each, so our advice is to book an appointment in advance using freephone 0800 038 59 29.
