Happy Eid-ul-Adha!

Published: 8 July 2022

Redbridge Council would like to wish its residents happiness, peace, and prosperity on this blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, which will take place on Saturday 9 July and up until Wednesday 13 July.

Eid-ul-Adha is the second of two religious holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide each year. Eid al-Adha honours the commitment of the Prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael to God. Eid-ul-Adha also marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, which is one of the five pillars of Islam.

Traditionally, Eid is an opportunity for people to come together to celebrate and reflect on how help can be provided to those less fortunate.

Redbridge wishes its Muslim neighbours well in celebrating this joyful occasion and wishes pilgrims who have travelled for Hajj this year a safe and blessed journey.
