Local heroes honoured at the Mayor's Community Awards

Last week Redbridge Council hosted the annual Mayor's Community Awards at Redbridge Town Hall.

The Mayor’s Community Awards recognise, celebrate, and reward the special people of Redbridge. Very often those making a difference to their local community remain anonymous but through the Mayor’s Community Awards, established in 2012, local people, groups, organisations, and businesses are rewarded for the invaluable work they do to make Redbridge great.

After receiving hundreds of nominations, the winners of the Mayor’s Community Awards were selected by an independent panel of judges, consisting of councillors, council officers and people from the local community.

Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Jyotsna Islam said:

“It is a great privilege to honour these outstanding members of our community who represent the very best of Redbridge. All the nominees and winners have demonstrated great civic pride in what they have achieved. They are an inspiration to us all.”

Leader of Redbridge Council, Cllr Jas Athwal said:

“Congratulations to all the winners. The awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the heroes in our community who make such a big difference to the lives of others. We have many, kind, thoughtful, and caring people who take enormous pride in our neighbourhoods, which iswhat makes Redbridge such a great place to live.

The Mayor’s Community Awards are to  honour those individuals or groups in Redbridge that have gone above and beyond to benefit others. They showcase that Redbridge is populated by great people, doing great things. Please see the list of winners below:
