South Woodford Library temporary closure

Following a structural inspection, our engineers have discovered RAAC concrete in South Woodford Library.

There is no immediate danger to the structure of the building, but we will be adding props where needed in the building as a precaution.

This means the library and gym will be closed tomorrow from 10am (Thursday 5 September) while the props are put in place. Further updates and a reopening time will be announced tomorrow via the Vision app and social media.

The nearest alternative library and gym is Woodford Green, Snakes Lane West IG8 0DX. Renewals and reservations can also be made online or on the mylibrary app. We also have a virtual library that can be accessed anytime.

We apologise for the inconvenience the closure will cause. The safety of local people will always be our top priority.
