Apply for a resident permit
We issue permits based on controlled parking zones, you should check which zone you live in before you apply.
You can get a resident parking permit if:
- you live in Redbridge
- you are the owner or keeper of a vehicle that is kept in Redbridge
- you are the main driver or registered keeper of the vehicle
You need to register an account with us if you have not already done so. You can then complete the permit application form and once that has been approved you can purchase your permit.
Before you begin your application make sure you have:
- your vehicle registration details
- proof of address, two documents. You may not be required to submit residency proof if you apply online and your name and address is validated via the council tax register
- proof of vehicle ownership at your Redbridge address or proof that the vehicle is a company car (two documents required)
- a debit or credit card to make payment
- a scanner or camera so that you can upload your documents
You should receive your permit through the post within 10 working days from the date we receive your application.
Charges
Each vehicle need a separate permit. There is no limit on permits for an address. You can purchase either a 6 or 12 month permit. Motorcycles do not require a parking Permit.
Blue badge holders who are eligible for a resident permit will receive the permit free of charge.
If your vehicle is fully electric, you will receive the permit free of charge. You are required to provide a copy of your V5 certificate showing zero emissions when applying.
The charges of first and further permits are:
First permit
- 6 month permit £19.00
- 12 month permit £25.00
Second permit
- 6 month permit £80.00
- 12 month permit £150.00
Further permits
- 6 month permit £130.00
- 12 month permit £250.00
Please note paper applications will incur an additional £25.00 on top of the prices stated above.
Renew or make changes to permits
If a permit has been lost or stolen – We will issue you with a replacement permit. The replacement permit will show the same expiry date as your previous permit. There is a £25.00 admin charge for replacement permits to cover our costs.

You should receive your permit through the post within 10 working days from the date we receive your application.
Change of details
If you have moved, changed your name or have a new vehicle you need to inform us:
- complete an online form
- call 020 8708 3636 and ask for a form
There is a £25.00 admin charge for replacement permits to cover our costs. You should receive your permit through the post within 10 working days from the date we receive your application.
Cancel your permit
To cancel and get a refund on your permit you must complete a refund form (PDF 153KB) and return your permit to parking management:
