What we do in Building Control

We make sure all construction work meets with the Building Regulations; these are minimum standards for design, construction and alterations to almost all buildings. We do this by checking your building project plans and inspecting the work on site.

The main purpose of building regulations is to ensure the health and safety of people in and around buildings, the conservation of energy and fuel and the welfare of people using the building.

Building regulation consent is different from planning permission and you may need both for your project.
