Home Education

Elective Home Education, also known as home schooling, is for parents who want to teach their children at home.

What is Elective Home Education

Elective Home Education is given outside of a school, usually by families teaching their children at home. You do not need to be a teacher or have any formal qualifications to teach at home.

We accept your right to home school your children and we believe in developing a positive relationship and mutual respect with you. We want to make sure every child receives their right to an effective education so we expect families to understand the necessity to work together with us if you choose to home school your children and, allow for regular and open communication with us.

Under the law, we have monitoring and welfare responsibilities to your child. It will be necessary to meet with you and your child/ren at least once a year.  As parents, we are sure that you will help us carry out our duties to look after the best interests of your child, particularly with our statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
