UK Parliamentary General Election
The UK Parliamentary General Election (UKPGE) is taking place on Thursday 4 July 2024.
Find your polling station
You will receive a poll card in the post with the details of your polling station on it.
You can also search your polling station using your post code.
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 4 July 2024.
Remember to bring acceptable photo ID when you go to vote.
Eligibility
To vote in the UK Parliamentary General Election, you must:
- be registered to vote
- be 18 or over on the day of the election
- be a British, Irish or qualifying Commonwealth
- resident at an address in the UK or living abroad and registered as an overseas elector
- not be legally excluded from voting
How to Vote
You must register to vote before Tuesday 18 June 2024.
You must be registered to be able to vote, You can:
- vote in person on polling day, Thursday 4 July 2024
- apply for a postal vote before 5pm on Wednesday 19 June 2024
- apply for a proxy vote (nominate someone to vote in-person for you) before 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024.
If you are voting in person, you must bring photo ID to vote.
If you do not have the right type of voter ID, you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC) before 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024.
How to complete your ballot papers
You have one choice on your white ballot paper. Mark a cross next the candidate of your choice.
