Hainault Forest is one of our Green Flag Award open spaces. It is a large park with woodlands and a variety of activities to take part in. While visiting the forest, why not walk through the Woodhenge behind the lake which features wood sculptures by local artists and follow the sculpture trail.

Loxford Park Loxford Lane Ilford, IG1 2PL
Loxford Park is a large park that has a lot of mature trees and shrubs that provide a great habitat for wildlife and birds. It benefits from an old sunken garden that is popular with park users wishing to rest from walking and also popular with skaters who enjoy a small skate park in this area. The Park has a fantastic play area featuring a huge tunnel, mounds to run up and down, boulders and planting and a nest swing that can be enjoyed together by children of all ages and abilities. In January 2015 Vision Redbridge Culture & Leisure worked in partnership with the charity Trees for Cities to plant an edible tree trail along the boundary of Loxford Park. All 30 trees planted were chosen for their edible features such as fruits, nuts, leaves or bark. As well as providing a source of food, as the trees mature they will become a prominent feature in the park landscape.

Martley Drive Play Area is a small but plentiful green space which is very popular among families with small children. The area benefits from a selection of play equipment that is designed for children under 8 years.
Onslow Gardens South Woodford, E18 1NA
Onslow Gardens has a large central area, with woodland to one side and the M11 extension to the other. This open space offers a great haven for unwinding, relaxing, having a picnic or leisurely strolls. Onslow Gardens forms part of Roding Valley Park, which is ancient woodland and is enriched in wildlife and gets users a little closer to nature. There are numerous events that happen within this area organised by the Nature Conservation team.

It benefits from a mature landscape and offers great space for dog walking and leisurely strolls through the park and along the River Roding which runs next to the park. Situated in a large residential area, the park is the hub, offering a variety of activities for families. It’s a great space for informal sport and has tennis courts and a full size football pitch.

Valentines Park is our premiere award winning park securing the prestigious Green Flag.
